A shorter week but still good. Wednesday night to Sunday night. These last three weeks have been super growing. Counseling still happens and little by little we grow together.
Zone Conference was really good, also. Got to see and be around a lot of other missionaries that don't treat me like a business partner, so it was the boost I need to thug out these last three weeks. President and Sister Ho are amazing as always. So blessed I get another year with them.
P-day was fun. We played basketball for like three hours and ate Hotpot. Classic p-day. Also went golfing at a golf simulator. Super fun. A lot of my cousins back home have these nice golf Sims so it reminded me of when I would be out in Utah or Texas and just hitting balls for a couple of hours. Made me feel like I was back home and idk, it felt nice. Sounds so trunky but I mean it well. Even though I'm trash, it was fun to hit some balls with my DL Elder Myers and put up a +33 through 10 holes on a par 5😭 My whole body was hurting and aching. I'm like yeahkah I'm either getting old or I'm getting old. Also, got to talk with the man himself, Elder Stevens, through a recent convert over voice messages. Shoutout, Sister Joy and JOHORRRR BAHRUUU💎
P-night was cool. Found in City Hall. Met an inactive member that grew up in Utah. She said her family was members and she grew up a member, but she doesn't go to church anymore. It felt good to invite her back and hopefully she can feel a desire to go. We were going back to Newton for an appointment but both of them fell through. Sooo tragic. Went to Dhoby Ghaut instead and found there. Had two calls and one of them we called and put Joseph, our guy, on date for May 24th. Looking forward to that next transfer if I'm still in Newton with business partner.
Thursday- weekly planning dayyyy. Went to China Town after some morning calls. Found there for a little bit. Ate Mcds. Did weekly planning. Elder Marshall actually cooked and gave me a great invitation. Probably the best one I have gotten my entire mission. Watched the video titled, "Moroni Preserves the Records for the Latter Days." (I'll link it below. I invite you all to watch it. Actually, gets me SO PUMPED) before the two-and-a-half hour finding block and man, we went so hard. We said a crazy locked in prayer. Not a singular person found us. Elder Marshall just is so relentless and oh my, he's such a beast. I actually gave him props for he doesn't let his companion distract him in the slightest. So consecrated. Ate, went back, taught English class, which went great.
Back2back exchanges on Friday and Saturday. It's nice getting to talk to my companion.
Friday- exchanges with ELDER ANNISON
Soooooo huge. My guy. Was in my MTC district. I went to 3rd Ward with him, so found the Filipinos all day again🇵🇭 We had a lot of fun. He's great. We went to tan Kah Kee in the morning for two hours. I stood on a corner outside of a grocery store for two hours straight in the sun and talked to all the Filipino helpers that crossed my face. Ate GYG and found in Lucky Plaza in Orchard for four hours. My feet were hurting so bad, but we got it done. Went to Holland Village and found for a little bit. It's never a full day exchange with 3rd Ward. So Elder Stewart and Elder Marshall came and met Elder Annison and I back at the church and we exchanged back into Normal companionships. Elder Marshall and I did calls the whole night. Five calls all went through. We did split calls so we each have a call going on our own phone. I called Zelon. This 15-year-old stud. Invited him to be baptized on May 17th❗So pumped for this kid. His life is changing right before his eyes and he has no idea. I keep telling him, "Brother, your faith inspires me." He keeps bringing his friends with him on the calls and everything. I can't even type out what I was doing when I was 15-16 years old on this email.
Saturday- exchanges with Elder Mac Pherson for YSA🧑🏼🧑🏻
For anyone unfamiliar, YSA stands for Young Single Adult. Anyone from ages 18-36 and not married is welcomed into the Young Single Adult ward here. So, we only stop and talk to people aged 18-36 basically. Anyways.
Elder Macccccc he's such a stud. He has suchh fire in his eyes and determination. We always get into it playing basketball together on P-days. It's hilarious. We get so competitive. We've been living in the same house as we both got into Singapore at the same time back on February 20th. Elder Mac is also the Elder that followed me when I got Chick-fil-a with my aunt and uncle. Super happy he was willing to attend for that. He's awesome. Anyways.
Of course, as the YSA Elders do every single day is going to Dhoby Ghaut. Sooooo many YSAs. It's so much fun. You just get to talk to chill YSA Singaporean bros all day and eat Wingstop for lunch.
That's exactly what we did.
Did four more hours in Dhoby Ghaut after we had a morning call + morning Dhoby Ghaut finding + destroyed Wingstop. Went and got Mcds with a YSA recent convert at McDonald's in Novena. Went back home and did a lot of calls. Got yelled at by Elder Marshall for trying to help a guy pray and read the Book of Mormon and gain a testimony. I ended up being the one apologizing too. Just gotta be the bigger person of course.
Sunday- Elder Marshall and I went out together alone for a great Sabbath day. I'm focusing on being the bigger person, so I told our ward mission leader that Elder Marshall could do the baptism if he wanted to. Not even a thank you or a smile from Marshall. Actually, so ridiculous. I've never seen a missionary be so consecrated that they think it's unconsecrated to treat your companion like a human being. Baptism went smooth though. Went and had lunch with members afterwards which was fun. Shared a message. Studies and then went to China town in the pouring rain. Had another member meal which was so awesome. He served his mission in Thailand, so he was just telling us about another great country in Asia and the background and yeah, it was awesome. Then did some finding in Dhoby Ghaut to close off the week.
Solid week. Starting to great pretty worn out and it obviously doesn't help that I'm alone out here. God can only throw so many cool people in my path as I find.
We got Sentosa tomorrow. Zone P-day. It's going to be fun. I'm pumped. I'm going to wear sunscreen this time as well😂
Two more weeks with business partner and then I'll be freed hopefully. I thank y'all for bearing with me as I don't mince my words and feelings. At the end of the day, I want a companion more than I don't. I want to be on a mission more than I don't. Because if I don't have a companion, I can't serve a mission. So, it is what it is. I serve because I literally know without a shadow of a doubt Jesus Christ lives and is real and for my family and for my countries.
God. Family. 🇲🇾 Countries 🇸🇬
Love yall🙏🏻
Terus berjaya semua.
Oh, lift up your voices in song and in story.
Let banners of peace in 🇲🇾BOTH LANDS🇸🇬 be unfurled, For truth, heaven-born, in its beauty and glory IS MARCHING TRIUMPHANTLY OVER THE WORLD🌏
