Week 49 - May 25, 2026

AMAZING WEEK. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A COMPANIONSHIP IS UNIFIED

Hope y'all are having a GREAT start to y'alls summer. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY. Getting outdoors and feeling the warmth. As for me it's been almost a year straight of summer which has been pretty crazy now just typing that out. Wild. Hit 350 days left on the mission and closing in on one year as a missionary. Just out here grinding with and alongside Elder Hull. Still have restrictions when it comes to finding, but we got it done. Luckily, we're teaching a lot of really cool people, so it makes the work fun when we're not finding.

P-night: went to Punggol for P-night. Walked around for a little bit but there wasn't a ton of people. Had a really awesome call with our friend Prem though. Super cool miracle we were able to show him that there were churches in India that he had no idea about, and it just so happened that the city he was traveling to has a meetinghouse for him! Taught him all about keeping the Sabbath day holy and he said he'd go to church in India! Super awesome. We ended the night off with some finding which was amazing. Met these three mainland Chinese families and they all said they would come to church๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป Met this other really cool guy too. Great P-night

Tuesday- DCM day. Didn't do exchanges which is typical for Compassvale. Not many missionaries want to come all the way out here to Compassvale for exchanges as it's more isolated than the other areas. So, it was Elder Hull and I out for the day. Still have the finding restrictions out here so we ate, did studies, and then went to Macpherson and walked around this smaller part for an hour and a half. Didn't talk to a ton of people. Then went to Serangoon and did another hour and a half there. Talked to more people and met these two couple cool kids. Went back to Buangkok and had four calls that night that all went well. Members helped for all of them and it was awesome. Really productive and happy we have a chance to be teaching all these people.

Wednesday- Wednesday was good. Went out and did some social media work for a little bit. Called this one kid but our member left early on us, so we had to quickly wrap up the call. We needed the member on to be following the rules about calling and teachings minors. Went to Woodleigh and walked around for an hour and a half and talked to maybe like 20-30 people. These restrictions are rough out here, I'm not gonna lie. Went to Wingstop, studies, back to the church in Compassvale, and taught our recent convert. Taught him and answered some of his questions and he's super awesome. It went great. We read 2 Nephi 31 with him and Elder Hull and I shared some thoughts. Man, such a powerful chapter. One of the few times God the Father speaks. Super powerful. Church is true. We then went to Punggol Coast and did our afternoon finding there. Was there for two hours and we found out about even MORE finding restrictions.

- We cannot now contact anyone that is wearing headphones of any kind (which is like 90% of people)

- We have to stay farther away from MRT stations, bus stops, and malls (where literally resides in the forsaken streets of northeast line Singapore)

- anyone that could be potentially considered Muslim by any judgment, we cannot stop.
So tragic๐Ÿ’” We've already been walking around in circles around HDBs for hours straight and now it's even more lockdown. God is clearly testing our commitment as he always does. It's about living the law of sacrifice. It's about showing our faith through our works. It's about showing God we love him and of course, letting God prevail in our life's.

Going from Newton Central business district downtown fast paced finding to slower, suburban HDB apartment home is a crazy switch to flip. It's been a little bit of a shock, for sure.

Anyways, as always, keeping it real. Last thing I ever want to do is glorify or falsely put anything about Singapore on a pedestal.

Finished the night by going back to Buangkok and calling our friend David, which was so awesome. I called David while Elder Hull called one of our recent converts. Man, what a call that was with David. He had sought out the church and walked in himself on Sunday. He's had a hard last 20 years and has been searching for meaning. I basically just wanted to center that night's message on the Book of Mormon and pray to know the truth. That's what I felt like by the Spirit his needs were and so by the end of his lesson, he was kinda being lighthearted, but I knew I needed to help him realize the seriousness of the message. By the end of the lesson, dude was not saying a word. I testified for like two minutes straight just about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon and being born again. I had asked him like, "Brother, what do you want out of coming to our church, what is your end goal?" trying to allude baptism and shared with him that brother, I know without a shadow of a doubt Jesus is God, he is the Christ and I know he lives. We can become perfect RIGHT NOW if we CHOOSE TO. So unbelievably powerful. His demeanor from the start to the end was completely opposite. So awesome. Went super well. Went home and called it a night.

Thursday- Elder Hull and I went out in the streets of Sengkang. Did some morning finding and then ate, studies + our weekly planning which went really good. We called and taught this less-active member which was really cool to try and help him get to church in Thailand. We did Punggol Coast finding and then called our friend, Min, who's super awesome. Taught him about Faith in Jesus Christ. Went home after dinner and called another one of our friends, YangYong. Super cool. We're not sure how much he understands. I definitely don't understand much, it's all in Mandarin. The members are super helpful here though! Great day.

Friday- taught our guy Harry to start the day and then got out the door after that. Lesson went well. We bussed all the way down to Pasir Ris and did our morning finding there. Ate, studies, and then went to Tampines for our afternoon finding. Went really good. Met some cool people. Walked through this big park/jungle part too. Felt nice to get away from the concrete, not gonna lie. We taught our other friend Ho Wai, and he really didn't understand what we were trying to teach him about Jesus Christ. We tried to keep it simple, but he just didn't get the concept of Jesus Christ and his divine mission. I don't really know. Ate and went home and called it a night. Took an hour to get back from Tampines to Buangkok. It was cool to see a lot more of Singapore that you really never get to see. Great day

Saturday- exchanges with Elder Moulton in Newton. Mannnn what a day๐Ÿ˜‚ Elder Moulton and I reunited in my old area of Newton. Felt weird to be back. First ever time doing an exchange in a previous area of mine. Elder Moulton and I literally talked for like four hours straight. Oh my. Catching up Sangat. Literally ran through everything. Our RP's (repentance process), areas, stories, comps, past memories in Masai and Johor Bahru. Man, what a day. We did a little bit of finding. Mainly just sat and talked and walked the whole day. Abangku memang. Elder Moulton and I eventually met back up with Elder Hull and Elder Marshall in Serangoon. Elder Hull and I went back to Buangkok and ate some dinner. Went back home and called it a night.

Sunday- WHAT A HARI SABAT. SLALUUUU HEBAT MEMANG. Both on-dates came. ALL three of our mainland Chinese families Elder Hull stopped on Tuesday night in Punggol came. So awesome. Went home, ate, studies, messaging, went to Serangoon for our finding. Met this one cool kid. Went to Kovan and I don't know what it is, but whenever it finishes raining and gets all humid, I get super lightheaded. So, we sat down and did some more phone work instead of finding. Went back to Buangkok and had two great calls. We're reactivating this old friend (investigator) who came to church with us on Sunday as well. So awesome. What a night. Finished off with some miracle minutes and wrapped up the week with some Elder Hull AMAZING grilled chicken to end off the week at the house.

Amazing week. So grateful to be out here. Beginning of the week was rough. But pressed forward with faith and Sunday night was amazing. It's such a grind but I'm so grateful for it.
